Policies and Procedures
The RxRite® website has both public and secure private environments.
All public content primarily of a marketing and customer service nature
may be accessed directly by selecting a topic from the navigational
header bar visible at the top of the login page. We encourage physicians,
pharmacists and patients alike to familiarize themselves with those
aspects of RxRite particular to their individual role or profile.
To assure the security and integrity of all prescription transactions and
other personally-identifiable health information, only those physicians
and pharmacies duly registered with RxRite and who have been assigned
valid access control codes, consisting of a unique user ID and password,
may access those secure and relevant portions of the website. Registration
is currently limited to licensed physicians and pharmacies. It is important
to note that at the time of registration, the system allows physicians
to establish clinic or hospital links, and registered pharmacies to
create accounts for each staff pharmacist. Throughout the website, prescribers
and providers refer to individual physicians and pharmacies, respectively.
Furthermore, RxRite follows strict authentication procedures for the
registration of physicians and pharmacies, which may cause a delay in
the assignment of valid access control codes to the physician or pharmacy.
Patient Consent
As RxRite is a third party in the context of the relationship between physicians
and their patients, please be advised that certain regulations may specifically
govern the electronic transfer of any personally-identifiable health
information between physicians and such third parties. Physicians are
encouraged to pay special attention to those details pertaining to patient
consent requirements within their practice jurisdiction.
As an integral part of the newly emerging integrated health information network,
RxRite provides patients with a single, secure, electronic global prescription
record that can be accessed by health professionals anywhere at anytime
with patients' consent. Patients are advised that when their records
are added to the RxRite database, certain profile settings can be turned
on or off, which may limit the degree of disclosure of information to
other registered physicians.
